Tonight: Two Multiple Artist Shows

There are two shows tonight whose times unfortunately overlap.  So you get to choose between Klimat, an East Village bar and The Living Room, a bit further downtown.  At Klimat, beginning at 9pm,  Joy Askew and Misty Boyce will each play a solo set.  Both these artists base much of their material around the keyboard (and are real life neighbors).

Or there is the multi-artist short set (half hour) show at The Living Room, part of the New Music Seminar, which will feature David Olney, Ana Egge, John Fullbright and Garland Jeffreys.  David will play in a duo format with his usually accompanist, Sergio Webb, and Ana and John are likely playing solo sets.  But Garland Jeffreys is bringing his full band and will probably play a longer set.  Here’s a hint: if you see Joy and Misty, you can still get to The Living Room in time for Garland’s set.

Joy Askew (9pm), Misty Boyce (10pm), Klimat, 77 E. 7th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit and transfer to the M15 bus, L Train to 3rd Avenue and transfer to the M15 bus, or 6 Train to Astor Place and walk)

David Olney (10:30pm), Ana Egge (11pm), John Fullbright (11:30pm) and Garland Jeffreys (midnight), Living Room, 154 Ludlow Street between Stanton and Rivington Street (F Train to 2nd Avenue, use the 1st Avenue exit), No Cover (but a donation for each band is strongly recommended)
